1. Scan only what you are entitled to scan

Use this tool only against sites you own, operate, or have been authorized in writing to assess. A scan makes real requests to a real server and stores screenshots of the pages it reaches. Running it against a site you have no relationship with may be inconsistent with that site's terms of use and is not something this tool grants you permission to do. You are responsible for having whatever authorization your use requires.

1a. You attest to that, on the record

Where free self-serve scanning is switched on, the form requires a ticked box carrying this sentence, and it is stored verbatim with the scan alongside your email address, the connecting IP address and the time:

I own this site, or I am authorized by its owner to have it assessed. I understand this server will make real requests to it.

That is not a formality and it is not a soft warning — an unticked box means no scan runs. It moves the responsibility for a scan onto the person who pressed the button, which is where it belongs, and it records that it moved. What is stored and for how long.

2. No high-volume or automated abuse

This is a diagnostic tool for examining a signup flow, not a crawler. Do not use it to scan at volume, to script repeated scans against a third party, to probe for weaknesses, to bypass bot protection or access controls, or to place load on any server. The scanner is deliberately built to be modest — it runs one scan at a time, identifies itself in its user agent, respects robots.txt, and stops at the card field — and you must not modify or drive it in ways that defeat those limits.

3. It produces observations, not advice

Nothing this tool outputs is legal advice, an audit opinion, a certification or a determination about any business. The rule matrix is unverified demo-seed text. You must not present a report as evidence of compliance, as a professional assessment, or as the work of a lawyer, and you must not remove or obscure the disclaimer that accompanies it. 4. Provided as-is

The service, the software and everything they produce are provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Scans may fail, produce partial results, or be wrong. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this tool or from reliance on anything it produces, and you are responsible for your own use of it and for any consequences of that use.

5. Your data, your machine

You run this software and it writes to your disk. You are responsible for what you scan, what you paste into it, what it stores as a result, who can reach the machine it runs on, and for deleting stored scans when you no longer want them. See privacy.

6. Changes and withdrawal

These terms may be updated, and this software may be changed or withdrawn, at any time and without notice. Continuing to use it after a change means accepting the current terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the tool.
